I don't know the number of jobs Texas has "stolen" from California, but I am sure there has been somewhat of a zero-sum result in net gain/loss in jobs between the two states. One underlying market sign as to what may be happening is the self-moving truck/van market. From the two graphics I clipped today (July 24th) from the
U-Haul website shows a dramatic difference in price depending on which way you are going. There may be other reasons for the difference in price, but I surmise migration for employment opportunities is a major reason...It could NOT possibly be for the social programs Texas has...
